BIR Launches TRRA Portal for Convenient Taxpayer Registration
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) recently announced the launch of the Taxpayer Registration-Related Applications (TRRA) Portal. This new online system aims to simplify and expedite the process of submitting applications and registration requirements to the BIR.
In the past, taxpayers had to visit BIR offices in person and submit paper forms to complete transactions such as applying for a TIN, updating their information, or transferring their registration details. This often meant contending with long queues, repeatedly missing work, and other hassles.
The user-friendly TRRA Portal now allows taxpayers to submit these applications and requirements fully online, saving time and removing inconveniences and difficulties.
Registration Services Available on the TRRA Portal
The TRRA Portal currently allows online submission for several key registration-related services:
- Application for TIN under E.O 98 and ONETT
- Registration of OFW and Non-Resident Citizens
- Application for Authority to Print
- Updating Email Address
- Transfer of Registration
- Updating Maiden Name
Using the TRRA Portal
Here’s what you need to do when you’re using the new TRRA Portal:
- Visit the BIR eServices portal and access the TRRA Portal.
- Prepare documents required for your application in PDF format (4MB limit per file).
- Select the type of application to submit.
- Choose your RDO. The system auto-selects RDO for new TIN applications based on provided address.
- Click “Email your Application” which will open your email client with attachments ready to send to the RDO’s designated email address.
- Users receive email acknowledgement of successfully submitted applications within 3 working days along with further instructions if any issues arise.
Taxpayers’ Benefit of Online Registration
The launch of the TRRA Portal marks a significant milestone in the BIR’s digitalization efforts to improve services and accessibility for taxpayers.
By enabling fully online registration and submission, the new portal saves taxpayers’ time and logistical hassles of connecting with the bureau. Less paperwork and in-person visits mean greater convenience and compliance.
As the BIR continues to enhance its digital capabilities, taxpayers can look forward to more a efficient experience.
